An Evening in the Tavern

Night at the Tavern electprogeny

Lúthien's Libation

Have you heard the lore of yester-year
When elders laughed 'ere children played?
'twas golden, then, in twilight's cheer
And the rule of Mandos held, yet, no sway.

An age spent waiting came at last fulfilled,
The Hunter marked a sound most fair;
Hark! Firstborn's song o'er yonder hill
He awayed to meet and their paths prepare.

As time unmeasured gave rise to love,
A nightengale rose in Doriath's realm
And 'ere her heart knew pain thereof
She gave us draught 'neath the boughs of elm.

And as she left this land and kin behind
She paused to teach her craft and lore
So we who remain oft drink and dream
To remember well our times of yore.
