Meatloaf (continued):

Preparation:

Wash your hands with a good soap (even if you believe that the heat will kill the germs).

Preheat the oven to 350°f.

Place the baking rack inside the baking dish.  Fold the aluminum foil in half, lay it on top of the baking rack; then using the fork punch a few holes through it.

Throw all the indredients into a large bowl.  Wet your hands with water and use your hands to mix it all up thoroughly.  Shape the mass into a long semi-squared loaf shape and set it on top of the aluminum foil.

If desired, Sauve said you could pour some more tomato sauce over the top of it but she recommends that you don't do that because it will turn an ugly color that looks alot like orc blood.  I chose to wait until after the meatloaf was cooked to use any type of sauce at all.

Place the loaf in the preheated oven and cook it until it's done (approximately an hour).  While you're at it, Sauve suggested, that you throw a few taters in the oven too.

Throw the bowl away so you don't have to clean it and then drink a few mugs of ale while you clean your axe and wait around for the meatloaf to be done.

Once the meatloaf is done allow it to rest outside the oven for 10-15 minutes before slicing it with your sword.

Serve with mashed taters (which were once baked potatoes but now have been mashed with the axe), and more ale.

This is a simple recipe that requires no cooking skill at all. Sauve told me she 'learned it' while travelling over near Mordor where there are thousands and thousands of black cows.

Black Cow

You will need: One chilled and frosted mug, a long iced-tea spoon, an ice cream scoop, a long red and white striped straw (this Straw appears to be important since we had to search everywhere to find one).

Ingredients:

• Cold Root Beer (you can use Coke or Dr Pepper but then it is not a Black Cow.  If you use 7-up Sauve tells me that it should never-ever be referred to as 'Elbereth's Cow', especially in the presence of any Elves. I wonder if she 'learned' that from experience as well.).
• vanilla ice cream

Preparation:

1. Place the straw in the chilled and frosted mug.
2. Place two or three scoops of vanilla ice cream into the chilled and frosted mug.
3. Pour the Root Beer over the ice cream. (you are allowed to slurp the foam if it overflows).
4. Place spoon in the mug.

Eat and drink in the shade of an old oak tree.
